ProLevel

This project we had to reflect on everything we learned this semester and take photos of how we used to take photos and how we take photos now.  This quarter we learned how to take better photos by using rule of thirds, ISO, f stop, etc.  My favorite project of the whole semester was definitely light photography because we got to make cool pictures and do whatever we wanted to do in the picture.  My thought have changed about photography because I now know how to take better pictures.  Photography does interest me as a career because you can travel and take cool pictures. I have changed the way I take photos because I can now take better pictures.   Below is my favorite picture I took and a link to see all the other photos I took.

This year during 8th grade photography, we completed many fun projects. In the beginning, we started out simple with doing a crayon project, then we went to portraits, light graffiti, rule of thirds, Set in the Street, I asked them to smile, Pulitzer photo, and the scavenger hunt. I edited the pictures with different apps and learned many useful tips during this class. I have gained knowledge on cool effects and camera settings, and I even learned how to manage my own website. This class was exciting and Im happy with the end results of the projects. The class was so fun and the freedom to be creative was great.

Scavenger Hunt

During my scavenger hunt I realized that we took so many good pictures this year so I thought I would show you my favorite. The reason this picture is my favorite because I think it really shows my personality as I am being goofy and I have that one raised eyebrow which is my favorite thing to do in some pictures. Also, This project was for Arts night so we had to have a white background with a light shinning into our eyes.

Final Post

This semester in photography was great. First, we did a crayon project, then portraits, then light graffiti, the rule of 3rds, smile, museum, and scavenger hunt. Before this class, I thought photography was boring but it’s not. Now if I take photos I edit them and use different angles and rule of 3rds. My favorite project was light graffiti because it was cool to see drawings with light. I don’t think I will be a photographer but I have become better at taking photos. Next year in high school I will probably choose photography as an art class.

Smile

This project, ” Then I asked her to smile”, is about going up to people and asking them if we could take a picture of them smiling and not smiling. This project shows personality. Some people look different when in public but they can actually be really nice people! The smiling shows that they are a fun, nice person and it was easy to take because everyone was nice. It was hard to find a good background for the photos but in the end, I was more comfortable about the smiling people. Here’s an example and a link foe the rest of the people;

Over the whole semester I have gone from taking photos that looked like a three year old to being able to use the angles and filters to help my photos. I also used the rule of thirds to draw peoples attention and having the main focus of the picture  in a good lighting. In the beginning  of the semester I really liked photography but was unable to take good pictures on my phone. At the end of the semester I have learned how to take good photos on my phone and now extremely enjoy photography.  The way that I take pictures has changes dramatically thanks to this class. My favorite project was honestly this one because I was able to see the changes and advances I have made in photography since the beginning of this year. Photography interest me as a career so weather I’m going to Poolsville of Northwest I will definitely continue to learn about how to take better pictures and try to advance more in photography. I will put my favorite photo from this project down below.

My photos in the album below go from bad to good in pairs.

This year in photography was a really fun one. My thoughts about taking photos have changed because before I would before just take regular photos but know I know how to take photos at different angles and put it on the rule of thirds. My thoughts about photography have changed because now i now that photograph can mean more than just a picture it has a story as its background and can provide stereotypes.  MY favorite project was the set in the street because it was really hands on and I did a lot. I don’t know if it is a career for me but I will probably continue it in high school because it is a creative thing to do.

Final Post

In this final project we were told two take 2 pictures of 10 items. One had to be a bad photo and one had to be the good photo of the item. We had to use the angle and perspective to make the photos look completely different. I also changed the brightness of some photos and made some in a filter. Below are  my two favorite photos from this project and a link to all my other ones.

Overall, I really liked this class because it broaden my perspective of how I see things and I have learned a lot. I have began to like photography more because of this class and have changed the way I take photos by making some on rule of thirds and taking photos with different angles, instead of just straight standing. My favorite project this year was the light graffiti because it was really fun to use the light to make things and to change the angle of the camera to make the photos look cooler. Below is my favorite photo from this project. I am open to having a career in photography because it seems very fun to be able to travel places just to get a photo. I hope to be able to take photography in high school as a class.

Smiles

This assignment was very interesting. The assignment was to take pictures of a variety of people while they were smiling and then while they were not smiling. It is amazing how different people look when they just smile.

Many people create stereotypes about different people based on how they look. This project was created to show that people may not really seem like they do when you see them for the first time. We watched a video that showed the same person with different fake stories and photographers making him look like he is a specific type of person. We should never stereotype people based on how they look at first glance. If you give people a chance they might surprise you.

Here are some of my examples:  You can see how some peoples body language changes when they smile.

Photography was an absolute amazing experience! Taking all different kinds of photos and making them you own was so cool! I definitely will start to take pictures with more detail to really capture the whole photo. I never would have really thought to do that before.  My favorite project was the Light Graffiti project because it was so cool to see all different kinds of light show up from just using a tiny cell phone. The pictures I took looked so good!  I would really like to continue doing photography in High School because it’s very cool and I learned a whole lot from learning about how to simply tilt your phone to automatically make the  picture look good.  This is my favorite photo I took!
