My Logo

I get the photos I need for class from the internet. No I don’t contact the owner of the photo. Yes I give credit to the owner of the photo because it is their photo. Well, since I will have my logo in the corner  of my photo they do not need to contact me because the picture they are using will show my logo so everyone who sees my photo that they used, will know it’s mine. My logo is supposed to represent a Polaroid camera, similar to the Instagram logo. The inside part of the logo is a light blue, because blue is my favorite color. The outside and the ring part of my logo will either be black or white depending if it is the dark logo or the light logo. It also says “Lauren’s Photos” in white print with a shadow. The easy part of making a logo is that I could use Adobe Fireworks to make it.It was helpful because I could use the shapes that they had provided. It was hard coming up with an idea for my logo.

Pro Level

I have thoroughly enjoyed this semester of photography class.  We have done so many different projects and each of them has shown me something new about photography.  Many of them were collaborative projects, like Light Graffiti for instance. I didn’t even know that it was possible to draw with light using a camera before this class.  I have had fun with all the project I’ve completed and they drove me to take pictures outside of school. This class completely changed my outlook photography. It is so much more than simply taking a picture, a real photographer has so many different techniques and angles at their disposal.  I had never really thought about what it takes to be a photographer and to take good photos. It is much harder than I would have originally imagined, but also more entertaining. I think that it is really fun to use these techniques to improve my photography. I now use what I have learned when I’m taking any photo and it has definitely improved my quality of work.  I think out of all the projects, Up Close was by far my favorite. During this projects my brother had a baseball game right next to the woods, so I ventured into the wilderness in search of a few good pictures. I know I embarrassed him when I was lying on the ground in front of his team, trying to get just the right angle. That was a good laugh. I had a lot of fun with that project and I think I got some really awesome photos in the end.

Photography interests me as more of a hobbie than a career.  From what I gather it is very hard to become a successful photographer.   While this is not something I aspire to be professionally, I would still like to look into photography.  It is definitely an enjoyable pass time for me and it’s a great excuse to get out in nature. In high school I plan on taking at least one photography class.  It feels like this class has only scratched the surface of all the things there is to know about photography and I would like to further my knowledge on the subject.  If there is one thing this class has been successful in doing, it is intriguing me about the art of photography.

Below is my favorite picture from this last project.  I would also like to thank Mr.Fitz for teaching me this semester.  I have had a lot of fun and I think he is a great teacher.  I will miss him and his class next year!

Final Project

This semester has been very fun. We took pictures of a lot of different things. In the beginning of the year I thought photography was going to be a lot easier than it was. I have learned how to take better photos by using the rule of thirds. My favorite project was the smile because we got to see the way people look when they are happy and sad. Photography does not interest me because it is to much work for me. I would not do it in high school because it adds more work to my schedule. This is my favorite picture from this year and the link to my scavenger hunt.  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/16MErQz48zmPVtRQ6rViKVugdZ4_1OfKHs9BIOOO3A5Q/edit?usp=sharing

Overall my experience in photography was fun and educating. I had a good time being able to go off with my friends and take GOOD pictures. I used to think photography was easy but now I know there is a lot that goes into taking just one photo. I would consider photography as a backup career later in life I will not continue in high school because I want to try other things, but I may circle back around to expand my horizon in photography. My favorite project was the light graffiti. I liked being in the dark and trying new things with the cameras and lights.

This semester in photography was a fun year but it was a weird year because there are some many thing that I tried that I have never done before. My thought of photograph has not really change I thought before photography is a inserting subject that I would be average at best and I was right. Yes I have change my way of taking photo I look for angle and lighting now and before I thought any old photo was good. My favorite project was light graffiti because it was the project that we had the most creative and even though someone left our group at the most important time it was a fun project and I think my best photo were there. I have no inserted in becoming a photographer but I would continue it in high school because I rather do something i know than something I don’t know.

I am thankful for my friends. Most of my friends I had just met in middle school. They are always there for me supporting me. I know when I am with them I will have a blast. It makes me sad to know that many of us will be separating in high school next year.

I am thankful for my sports teams. I have been on many sports teams these past few years. I have been on a couple basketball teams, a soccer team, a softball team, and a dance team. My teams are my second family. They are helpful, and even though I may not be the best at the sport they accept me and push me to do better.

I am thankful for my dog. My dog’s name is Nino, he is a 1 year old multi poo. We bought him in Florida on vacation. We had just gone shopping one day, little did I know we would be getting a dog. I knew from the second I saw him I fell in love, and after about 30min of convincing he was finally ours. He is very energetic and playful.

I am thankful for Greece. I have been going to Greece every summer ever since I was little. We have a house their on the island I am from, it is a small island called Andros just a 2 hour boat ride from Athens. Many of my family lives in Greece and I look forward to seeing them every summer. My favorite thing about Greece is the beautiful scenery and the food.

I am thankful for my family. I have 2 brothers one is a sophomore and the other just   graduated, I will miss him a ton when he goes off to college. I also have a mom and a dad who are always there for me. I am very grateful for my family and I love them with all my heart.

I am thankful for my culture. My culture consist of going to church every Sunday, Greek dancing, goya youth group, eating gyros, and celebrating Easter about a month later than everyone else. Most of these things may seem strange or embarrassing but to me it’s reality, it’s what makes me unique.

I am thankful for my education. Although I may complain a ton about having to go to school every morning, I am grateful to have the right to an education. I enjoy learning new things or working at something to become better. I love writing and reading , I struggle in math so I practice hours till I can succeed.  School has taught me many things and has brought me to were I am today. I can’t wait to see were it will take me later in life.

Action

For this project we had to take photos in motion. For the setup I waited until the hallway was clear so I could get a picture of one person in motion instead of a bunch of people.  A tip could be getting good lighting and the right shutter speed, it will make your picture clearer and less blurry. You could move the camera in different positions and tilt it to get a variety of different pictures. I would want to photograph horseback riding because it has a lot of motion, and would look nice.

For the project we had to take photos of objects in motion so it would be a picture but you could still tell it is in motion. For the setup I waited for some of the people to pass by so I could take a picture of the people who were coming next. For a tip you should have good lighting and make the shutter speed faster it will make your picture clearer. You could tilt you camera in different angle to give a different sense or idea of the picture.I would want to photograph soccer or basketball because to me it has more detail, or a competition.
