Getting Close

For this project we had to take 5 living and 5 non-living photos, but close up. In order to get better photos, I cropped the sides so the background isn’t showing. I think it was hard because some of my photos were blurry and I had to take them again. It was difficult to find living things, and it was easier to find non-living things. If I was able to take a photo of anything, I would choose to take a picture of a butterfly because I think they are very pretty. You can see the rest of my photos here.

Up Close

In this project, we had to take 10 pictures thing up close. 5 pictures of living things and 5 pictures of non-living things. It was easy to find things to take pictures of, but when we had to take the pictures, we had to find the perfect angle and the perfect distance away from the object to get an up close image with good quality. There weren’t any challenges and it wasn’t hard to find things to take pictures of, but I did try something new in this project by really trying to get pictures up close. If I had all the equipment I needed and all the time in the world, I would love to get out in nature and take close up pictures of all kinds of animals, like foxes and seals. Getting Close

Our task for this project was to get close to objects or people and take pictures of them. Using zoom on my phone camera aided me in this project. One new thing I tried in this project was using auto on a regular camera. One challenge was finding good things to get pictures of. If I had the time, I would photograph Lego’s close up. Up Close

In this project what mostly worked well for me was getting up close with random objects and taking the pictures at certain angles. But I did try something new going for new angles and getting up close to make the picture work. Some challenges I had to work with was getting choosing which objects to take pictures of. It was difficult to find pictures, But there was no struggles with the camera that was mostly the easiest part. If I had time, and proper equipment I would love to take some pictures of nature like pour water on the ground and take the picture of the sky above or some water droplets.

Up Close

For this project we had to take a least 10 photos of living and not living things; up close. The thing that work well for this project was using VSCO , this made it easy to get a close up photo of a object/person, without it being fuzzy. I did try something new and that was using the app VSCO. The challenges I had were finding objects to take close up photos. Also it was hard taking a photo of someone eyes because of blinking and the camera not focusing . If I had the ability to take a good close up photo, I would want to take a photo of a butterfly or dragon fly, up close. If you would like to see the rest of my close up photos click HERE.

Getting Up Close

Macro Photography is a method of taking pictures by putting your camera really close to something and snapping a picture. In the majority of macro photographs, the main object is bigger than in real life. By using the macro setting on my camera, I got some really clear and spot on photographs of plants, materials, and objects. I was hoping to find some insects or animals to take pictures of, but I had no luck. In addition, if the camera shook just a bit, the pictures would turn out to be very blurry. If I had professional equipment for macro photography, I would head out into the open and take spectacular pictures of exotic plants, insects, and amphibians. I really enjoyed this project and I can’t wait to see what’s next! -Marie Valouiski

Getting close

What I had to do for this project was take photos close up to show textures. What worked well is not getting to close so it actually focuses. My Challenge was finding good places to take pictures. I had some issues like the camera not focusing. I would probably take a picture of bugs or animals. For the rest of my photos come here.

This project was based on pictures taken by Justin Bettman who creates scenes in the middle of a public space that doesn’t match the public area. We took pictures in this scene in the middle of an open area in the front of our school. Then we edited our pictures to make them look similar to Carrie Mae Weems’ work . To edit our pictures we used Photoshop. In Photoshop we used the marquee tool to make the shape of the darkened, shadow part of our photos. Then to adjust the darkness on the shadow part we used the black and white graph tool. If I were to capture my family’s story in a place it would be in my family’s living room because we spend most of our time in the living work either watching tv, doing work, sleeping, eating, etc. . You would see our tv, couch, coffee table, fish tank, our fire place and a couple of blankets and pillows.

Getting Close

This project was about going up to living and non-living objects and taking pictures of those objects up close. When I was taking pictures, what worked really well for me was getting close to the object and getting farther away until it focused on the object. The only new thing I did for this project was taking the pictures all the way up close which was actually pretty interesting to do. There wasn’t any challenges I came across when doing this project considering it was pretty easy to do. Since I walk to school, I can just take some during that time. Sometimes when I was trying to get close to an object, the camera wouldn’t focus so I had to keep moving the camera until it did focus. If I had the time and money, I would like to photograph the Eiffel Tower from the bottom up. Here is a like to all my pictures.

Close Up – Alexis Jacob

This project was based on pictures that were taken close up, you may not be able to determine what is in the picture until told what it is at first which can keep my audience guessing. I used my phone and tried my best to take my pictures when nobody saw because they tend to take ideas others think of. My challenges were getting it to focus on it when close up, some things I tried to take a picture of would just not focus so I couldn’t achieve some pictures I’d hope for. I’d like to take a picture of a very fluffy dogs fur close up, a white dog preferably because people can question whether it’s a arctic fox, those white fluffy rugs, or even the dog itself.
