This semester has gone great in Photography. It all started with 24 Colors and ended here. My thoughts have not changed about photography I still love it. My pictures have changed for the better, better lighting, better subjects, etc. My favorite project was Then I Asked Them to Smile because I went out of my comfort zone to take pictures of strangers. Photography definitely is a career option. I will try to keep learning about cameras and photography in high school.

Last Project

During this semester, we took pictures and learned how to take more complex photos. my thoughts changed cause at first i thought it was really easy but in reality its hard. I have changed the way i take photos. My favorite project was the crayon project because me and my friend went to Micheals to take pictures and i kept breaking the crayons. I will probably want to take photography next year because i had a lot of fun in this class.

Last Project!

We did a lot in this semester of photography. We did many projects and took lots of photos. After learning a lot, my opinion on photography did change. I found it very fun. Now, when I take photos, I make sure they are centered. My favorite project was rule of thirds because it taught me the strategy. I don’t plan on pursuing a career in photography but I do plan on considering it for high school. I have other interests for a career. To see my photos from the scavenger hunt, click here

My photography semester passed by very, VERY quickly. I had so much fun taking pictures using unfamiliar techniques, camera settings, and methods. Using these things opened me up to a array of fantastic pictures that I never knew I could do. My favorite project to do was “7 days” because I took some amazing photos and got to explain how these things make me happy in life. Before starting this class, I thought taking pictures couldn’t be professionally done and that anyone could do it. I then learned that taking pictures is actually pretty complicated. There are many different methods of taking pictures, settings on my camera that I never even thought about, perfect lighting combinations, etc. After this semester, I started finding unique positions to take pictures of and getting the perfect lighting. This class taught me that photography is very fun, and I hope to continue pursuing it in high school (along with my other art interests).

Salutations to all, Marie Valouiski.

Last Project

During this semester we did a lot of different projects and I learned more about photography. Now that I know more about photography my thoughts about it have changed. Also I have changed the way I take photos because now I know the correct way to take pictures and make them look good. My favorite project was the scavenger hunt because I had a lot of fun looking for everything and taking pictures. I like photography but I don’t think I would do it as a career or continue it next year. This is because i’m not very good at photography.

This semester was so much fun, I learned so much about photography. This class really help me learn how to take good photos using different techniques. My thoughts on photography didn’t change, I was always interested in photography. But this help me grow as a photographer. I did change the way I take my photos, I think my photos skills have improved over the semester. My favorite project was Light graffiti because I though it was very cool. Also, I think it looks very interesting and you can make your own designs and patterns. Photography interests me as a career. I will continue learning photography in High School, because I really enjoy it and I ‘m interested in it and I want to keep growing as a photographer. In the end, I think photography is a very cool and a good skill to have. Below is my favorite post of this semester.

Up Close

In this project we were told to take 10 photos, 5 living and 5 not living things. The thing that worked well for me in this project was finding new angels. The new thing i tried was using the app VSCO. The thing that was challenging for me was trying to make sure your picture was not blurry because of how close up you are. If i had the time i would want to take close up pictures of plants. I would want to take pictures of them because they are very interesting and when you look up close to them you can see all the different textures and colors.

Set in the street

The project “set in the street” which was started by Justin Bettman. Is a photography project and we had to take a set with props in a public place and have to make a story with the photo and have emotion and mood to it. The set we used was a kitchen table and was inspired the “Kitchen table project” by Carrie Mae Weems

The Final Project

Overall, my photography class has been really enjoyable and a nice break from all the work in school. I have learned many new techniques on how to improve your photos, I think what I have learned will definitely help me in the future somehow. Also, honestly photography in my opinion is an easier class, so it is nice to be able to be more relaxed and not as worried about getting stuff done. Last year when I was choosing my classes, I wasn’t quite sure what photography would really be like; but overall, photography class is not very different than what I expected. This class has definitely changed the way I take photos now and how I will take photos in the future; and has also helped me imagine all the possible angles for things and what the best shots could be. Looking back, my favorite project from this year would have to be our first project, the 24 crayons project. This was my favorite project because it was fun to go around our school and find all the possible and most creative places to hide our crayons. It was especially fun when I got down to my couple last crayons but couldn’t find anything that matched the color, it was fun to venture around the school for those last few colors. I’m not quite sure photography would be a future job for me, because I don’t really think I would be good enough to have that for a job. But I probably will continue to do photography in high school, because it seems like it is an easier class; and also it could be another AP class to have in high school. There is still a possibility though that I will not continue photography if I see a class that interests me more.

This is probably my favorite/best photo I have taken this year.
