Rule of Thirds

I thought that the person was easier to fit in the rule of thirds because they can move how you want. What didn’t work was most of the landscape. My thoughts on the rule of thirds can be good, or can be bad. I like how it kind of makes it a bit professional but I think I prefer the photos that break the rule of thirds. I got the rule of the thirds on my phone by using the grid setting. Find the rest of my photos here.

Rule of Thirds

My favorite people picture is the one of Lauren carrying me. My favorite picture of an object is the one of the plant. It worked if you lined up the object on the grid. It didn’t work when we had too many people on the line. I thought it was going to be easy to take the pictures and it was. I used the line on the far right. Here is the link to the pictures.

Light Graffiti

To take these photos we made went into the gym and turned off all the lights. We also set the shutter to take longer, usually 10 seconds. We then used flashlights to draw images. What worked was usually having multiple people draw things in the picture. What didn’t look as good was painting people in. What didn’t work was when the person in the photo moved after they were painted in. Different colored lights usually made the picture even better. Everyone worked together to come up with ideas for what to draw. You can find the rest of the photos here.

Light Graffiti

My group took our photos with an ISO 80, and a shutter speed up 30 seconds.First thing we did was figure out what pose/photo we were taking, then deciding who was posing and who was drawing him.Secondly was taking the actual photo and drawing with the light. What worked in the project was after we finished drawing we shined the light on the person so you could see them in the photo, also we shined the light at the camera while we were drawing so it could see the light. However while you were drawing the light you couldn’t see it and it didn’t come out in final photo.I was frustrated while using a specific light because it was right handed however didn’t know. If you wanted to advance the project you could make a movie while using the light.

Light Graffiti

We took our photos with a ISO of 80, usually  a shutter speed from 10 seconds to 30 seconds.  First, we had to come up with something to draw, the one person would take the photo while the others would draw the image with the amount of time we got and hopefully we got a good outcome. What worked was that if we used a bright light, it would show up better on the camera but, if we used a more dimmer light then it would show up as much. One of my frustrations is that when you would draw something and you think it will look good on camera but then it turns out really bad. We could take this to the next level by using more time to draw the photo and use many more different types of lights to make some cool creations.

Rule of Thirds

This assignment was very easy. We had to take pictures using the rule of thirds. In my opinion, pictures that were taken using the rule of thirds are very aesthetically pleasing. Using the rule of thirds is very fun and using the grid on my camera was really cool to do. These are my two favorite pictures, you can see the rest of them here

Light Graffiti

My group took out pictures by going in to the gym (completely dark) and drawing with out phone flashlights. In order for us to make color we had to put a sticky note in front of the camera. I think the most frustrating thing was  getting the picture all the way done and not halfway done. One thing that could take this picture to the next level is if we did a whole class “portrait”. Rule of Thirds

For the Rule of Thirds project, what worked what having the grid up on my phone camera. This helped me use the rule of thirds. What didn’t always work was trying to crop a photo to work for rule of thirds. At first I thought rule of thirds wouldn’t make that big of a difference in my photos but it actually made them look better. I like using it. Rule of thirds is when two lines going down and two lines going across. The points where the lines cross is where you want the main focus of your picture. You can find the rest of my photos here.

Rule of Thirds

In this project we used the rule of thirds setting in our phones to take pictures of objects. The point was to have the center of attention be the object in the third column. After looking at the object the point is to have your eyes look to the opposite side at what is surrounding. A challenge I faced in the midst of this project is making the object I took a picture of the focal point. What I found easy was taking pictures of people. This was easy for me because I could tell them to go anywhere or any place. The stationary objects weren’t always able to move. For example, when there was a tree surrounded by a bunch of other trees I couldn’t use it because there was no focal point. The people could be moved to other settings. In conclusion, this project was easy to understand and complete.
