Portraits with an Infinite Background

When taking the photos I put the shutter speed a little higher to let all the light come. We tried to shine the light on the backdrop and not the person in order to not take off parts of the face. The shutter speed worked but the lighting didn’t work because it was uneven.

In this project I had to take a photo using ISO to make an infinite white background behind and person. The thing that worked the most for me was the pose of the person and the color of there shirt. The thing that didn’t work was having the light be to bright or to close or to far, etc… You can find the rest of my photos here.

This project was very unique. We had to take pictures in front of a completely white background and adjust the camera’s shutter speed and ISO to control how fast the camera lense opened and how much light shown through to the lenses. Later on, we worked on editing the photos to give the illusion of a completely white background that didn’t even look like a background. It was a bit difficult to get the lighting perfect, but using natural light and a dim lamp, the pictures came out great. These are two of my favorite pictures, but you can see the rest of them here

In this project, my group and I had to stand in front of a white background, and shine light at the background while somebody takes the pictures. The shutter had to be open for a longer period of time, so that it can absorb a lot of light. The ISO is the sensitivity to light. We had to put it at a higher level to take the pictures. To edit, we had to go to Photoshop and crop out some parts. We also made sure that the background could be at it’s whitest, so that it would look like we were standing in nothing. What worked was when we shined the light on the background, and not on the person. What did not work was if we only shone light on a certain part of the background, which caused the other parts to be darker and look yellow. To see the rest of my photos, click here.

My group and I had to stand in front of a white sheet of paper, and we had to shine a light on the background. It worked when we were shining the light on the background, but it didn’t work when we were shining the light on the person. We also had to try to get the light to shine everywhere instead of just one place. Our shutter speed was open for a longer period of time, because we had to let a lot of light come in. The ISO is the sensitivity to the light. We edited our pictures in Photoshop to make sure our pictures had a background that looked like nothing. You can see the rest of my pictures HERE.

Portraits with an Infinite Background

For this assignment, we had to take a picture of members of our group with a white background. after that we had to put it in photoshop and make the background all white because there were some spots where it wasn’t. Putting the background into photoshop and making it all white really worked and it was really easy. What didn’t work was taking the photo and it took a while to finally get a good picture. To take our portraits we had to change the settings on the camera. We also had to hold the lights in a good position so that the lighting looked good and stand in a position so there was no shadows. What worked was when we changed the settings and stood in a place so there was no shadows and the lighting was good. What didn’t work was when we had too much lighting and it made the background look too yellow and there was shadows. See the rest of my pictures here.

We took photos against the white screen so that we could edit them to be black and white easily. We were easily able to take the pictures(once my group finally agreed to participate) because we didn’t see any need for the light, because the settings we used for the camera made it just bright enough, which made it easier to take a picture without someone obstructing the view, trying to hold up a light. There wasn’t much that didn’t work, other than some technical difficulties with my computer.

To take these pictures, we had to change the camera setting to manual and changed the ISO to make it more sensitive. Also, we had to change the shutter speed. When we took the pictures, we didn’t have any yellow edges so we didn’t have to edit anything out. There wasn’t anything that particularly didn’t work but there was some confusion with the ISO level.

Portraits With an Infinite Background

In this project you had to make it look like there is no background by editing F-stop,IOS, and shutter speed. For this project to get a good picture you had to shine light behind the person so there wasn’t a shadow. We had to be careful because if we had too much or too little F-stop, shutter speed, and IOS there would either be too much light or too little. You can see some other photos here
