Catch The Action

For this project I took pictures of a person that was in motion. I had to fine an angle to make the picture go from left to right. If you were to do something like this I suggest to take the picture from the side of the person. I would want to take a picture of a person that is maybe trowing of catching a ball or something.

This protect is about Capture people’s movements. About motion capture, the iPhone has a great setting that allows you to take a picture continuously with a long press of the shutter. I use it and the rule of thirds. I hope that the person being photographed can make the most of the action, and the photographer needs to find a good angle to shoot as soon as possible. If I can, I want to shoot a dancer, it is very beautiful, just like the picture I took below. My photos

Catch the Action

For this project, we had to take photos of an object, or person, in motion. This does not mean blurry photos, but it is photos that cannot be staged. To set up for this project, I had to change the shutter speed on my camera to be able to take multiple photos at a time, or a “burst” of photos. A tip for someone trying to take action photos is to keep your camera as still as possible, to get the cleanest image you can.

We had to take pictures of an action happening near and/or around us. We had to take the picture at the right time to get the action not blurry and in the motion. If you were to do this, i’d recommend getting some sort of object that you can trough or kick. If I wanted to do this than I would like to do this as a job I would do it at a NBA game.

Catch the Action

For this project we had to take 8-10 pictures of objects in motion. In order to get good photos, I took a burst of photos so the pictures were not blurry. I would advise that other people should also take their photos on a burst. I would want to take a picture of someone kicking a soccer ball.  Below are my 2 favorite photos. Catch The Action

This project was very interesting. We had to take pictures of people or objects in motion. When I used my phone camera, I used the burst feature and that helped me pick the perfect picture. One tip I have for people trying to do the same project as I did, is to have patience, and a lot of it. It is very difficult to capture the perfect picture at the perfect moment so you will need to try a few times. I would want to take a picture of someone doing a back flip, I think that is so cool. I have my 2 favorite pictures here, and you can view the rest of my pictures here

Catch the Action

This project was very mesmerizing and simple at the same time. Our goal was to take 8 to 10 pictures of people and/or objects in motion. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of my friend moving around and of my sister in the spooky, foggy woods of Sugarloaf Mountain. To take pictures of them in the middle of their action, I set my camera to manual. I also set the ISO to 100 (400 in the mountains) to get the perfect lighting and the shutter speed to 1/640 to get the clearest image outcome. If you’re trying to do the same, I advise pressing the push-button right when the object/person is at its highest point (when jumping, in mid air, etc.) If the action is running/moving across (not in mid air), then try to take a picture by following the rule of thirds (see post for more information). In the future, I hope to take pictures of people in action during sports and other activities.                                                                                                      -Marie Valouiski
