We did a lot in this semester of photography. We did many projects and took lots of photos. After learning a lot, my opinion on photography did change. I found it very fun. Now, when I take photos, I make sure they are centered. My favorite project was rule of thirds because it taught me the strategy. I don’t plan on pursuing a career in photography but I do plan on considering it for high school. I have other interests for a career. To see my photos from the scavenger hunt, click here
Getting Close
For this task, we were to get a photo of any object, but it had to very close to it. It was very easy to use vsco as it gives you very easy tools to edit with. It was my first time using it, and it was very easy. My challenges were that I had to redo all my pictures because they weren’t close enough. If I could, I would get an up close shot of an animal.
Set in the Street
For this project, we had to show a story just by taking four pictures at a kitchen table. Our pictures were taken by Sydney Kraus. If I had to tell a story with pictures of my family, it would be in our driveway because sometimes we all play basketball together in the driveway.
Action Pictures
For this project, we had to take 8-10 pictures of a person or a thing moving or in action. To make this project easier, I used the burst setting on my camera which allowed me to get multiple pictures of the full action and choose the one that looked the best. Definitely use burst and make sure you have the right angle if you plan to take action photos. If I had a chance to photograph any sport it would be golf. I would take it of the swing. Then I Asked Them to Smile
In this project, it was difficult to take the pictures and make sure that they didn’t look like photos for a license. It shows how much a change of emotion can change your thoughts about a person. Bias will not give you the full effect of this project, as you know how the person is. If you’re taking a picture for a client, you should ask about their personality.

Light Graffiti
For this project, we had to change the settings on the camera so it sees light in the dark. We take the picture then we have 15 seconds to draw whatever with our flashlights. It was very easy to come up with ideas of things to draw, as there are a lot of things you can do like draw wings. However, drawing it was much harder. You can’t see as you are doing it so you have no idea what you have drawn and what you haven’t. it was very frustrating to draw things like smiley faces faces because they require you to cover and uncover your flashlight. Something that would take this project to the next level would be different color lights. If you want to see the rest of my photos, click here
Rule of Thirds
In this project, it was very easy to crop the picture because my phone had a grid. However, finding different things to take pictures of was challenging because there were a lot of options but you had to choose wisely because it’s much easier if it has a center. My thoughts before the project were that it would be one of the hardest project but it turned out to not be that hard. I used the grid in my camera settings on my phone and lined up the object/person to the line. If you want to see the rest of the photos, click here
Portraits with an Infinite Background
To take the photos for this assignment, we had to take a picture of someone standing in front of a black background with a light shining on them to isolate them from the background. We then had to put it into photoshop and adjust the levels to make the picture look good. It was very easy to adjust the levels in photoshop and it really helped make the picture look good. Taking the photos, however, took a lot of practice and a lot of focus to make it good. Click here to see the rest of the photos.
Portraits with an Infinite Background
For this assignment, we had to take a picture of members of our group with a white background. after that we had to put it in photoshop and make the background all white because there were some spots where it wasn’t. Putting the background into photoshop and making it all white really worked and it was really easy. What didn’t work was taking the photo and it took a while to finally get a good picture.
