#ProLevel

Over the whole semester I have gone from taking photos that looked like a three year old to being able to use the angles and filters to help my photos. I also used the rule of thirds to draw peoples attention and having the main focus of the picture  in a good lighting. In the beginning  of the semester I really liked photography but was unable to take good pictures on my phone. At the end of the semester I have learned how to take good photos on my phone and now extremely enjoy photography.  The way that I take pictures has changes dramatically thanks to this class. My favorite project was honestly this one because I was able to see the changes and advances I have made in photography since the beginning of this year. Photography interest me as a career so weather I’m going to Poolsville of Northwest I will definitely continue to learn about how to take better pictures and try to advance more in photography. I will put my favorite photo from this project down below.

My photos in the album below go from bad to good in pairs.

Then I asked them to smile

With the people in this post I specifically chose them to show that sometimes people are unapproachable when they are not smiling but when they are smiling they have more likely to be approachable. Although that is true for some people other people I took pictures of you would approach either way because they look natural kind. These pictures are also divers and show how some people might stereotype other people because of there race. The picture bellow is a picture of my great grandma that recently turned 100.

Newseum

This photo is a picture of the World Trade Center Attack. This photo was added ion 2002 and was taken by Stave Ludlum.  This photo is a very emotional photo because it’s the day that thousands of people died. This picture shows when the first trade center was hit. This photo makes me sad and angry at the same time because thousands of people died and were taken away from their family’s. I’m angry because people purposely did this and took these people away from their family’s. What drew me to this photo was the fact that someone stood there long enough to actually get that photo.

This photo is titled Boston bombing Survivor. It was awarded and added to the Pulitzer prize gallery in 2014 and was taken by Josh Haner. This photo holds a lot of emotion because thousands of people were killed and if they were not killed but injured they were traumatized for life and had to live with the scars this event caused. This photo drew my attention because someone captured the pain, frustration, and tiredness that they are going through to recover from this event.

Honestly I don’t think I would be able to do this and separate myself from whats happening to take this photo.  There are many struggles of begin a photojournalist because you have to separate yourself from the event to capture the moment and I don’t think I would be able to do.

The second Exhibit I did was The 9/11 gallery and film. This attack was fetal to hundreds of millions op people and the survivors were servile traumatized.  The comments were flooding is as soon as the attack happened because of how scurvier it was. The building after the attack was crumbled and unrecognizable and servile damaged the surrounding area too.  My favorite part of the exhibit was the  wall with all of the quotes ts on it. This exhibit fit into the museum because the museum showed both fetal and happy events and aloud people to understand the past better.

Set in The Street

While building the project there was a lot of work that went into this process. In the very beginning we all built sides of the set with 2 by 4 pieces of wood to make the frame of wood. We all then took 4 by 8 pieces of dry wall to lake the walls actually walls. After completing the three sides of the wall were completely built we painted and made sure everything on the walls looked good. We than transferred the three pieces of the walls to the atrium to put them together. After putting them together we moved them the the position they would stay in then set up all the furniture that would be in the picture. Some difficulties along the way were working together sanding it down properly and building them together. Some of the easy things were painting it and setting up the furniture. The time laps below is us setting up the furniture and putting the finishing touches to the set.

Thankful Post

In my first picture I have a collage of all of my teachers that I greatly  appreciate. I appreciate them all because they have made my year so far so much easier and some of them have helped my entire middle school experience.  Lots of them have also put a great effort into helping me and my grade. They have also helped and encouraged me to put a greater effort in to my Poolsville application.

My second picture is a picture of my family gathering around before Christmas last year and me, my sister and my mom going on a road trip last summer.  My family has helped me though out my life because the have encouraged me to be a better person. They have also helped me get through all the challenges that I have faced.

In my third picture I have a collage of some of the best places that I have ever been. One of them is my back yard that looks like a forest and is wonderful to walk through to collect your thoughts. The second place is a sun flower garden where some of the sunflowers were taller than me. The third photo is of my house before Halloween and it is my favorite one because I decorated it with my family.

my forth picture is a collage of my sister-in-laws and my aunts/uncles and cousins. The people in this picture are important to me because they are always around though my ups and downs. They also are always around and just want to have a good laugh with no seriousness in the air.

My fifth picture  is a picture of my siblings, out of all the people I consider to be my family/sibling these are only a few of them. I hold these people close to my heart because no matter what I know I can count on them when I’m feeling down to cheer me up of when there is no one  else to talk to they will be there. I also know that these people will be there no matter what even if they aren’t  actually here.

In mt sixth photo I have pictures of places at school. I have these because they remind me that even if school ism’t my favorite place it still isn’t the worst. They also show me that although people can be mean there are also supper excepting people that will always the there for you.

In my seventh picture I have a picture of my friends. They are also pep;e that I consider to be my family. I know that they will always be there for me because even if we only have known each other for a little while they have already been there through thick and thin with me and I hope I will be able to do the same for me.

Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is defined as  aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section. This causes difficulties because you have to make sure you were on one line that would draw your attentions

Light Graffiti

During this project I was very frustrated because the shutter speed was either to long or to short. Just plain outlining them or lighting them up and drawing above them.  While changing the shutter speed and ISO helped adapt the camera to the lighting around and focus on the impotent details. I could have used the timing better or the way that I set the lights in order to help the back round.

Portraits 2

This is my favorite photo that I took and edited. Some difficulty’s with this part of the project was trying to light up their face and the back round so there was no shadow’s. Also a difficulty was to make the right angle that let the light hit their skin just right. But the people that I took the photographs of made it easy because they knew just the right pose to make to make the picture look good.

Black Background

In order to complete this project you have to mess with the shutter speed, ISO, and the F-stop.  To make this photo look good other her choosing her pose, you have to mess with the lighting, what your background is and be able manipulate the place you are putting the camera.  With the light right below, above or pointed from the top corner to give her a side lighted face. Having no lighting would definitely not work because then she would blend in with the background and would not be visible.

My favorite picture that my friend Liza took and edited is the picture below because of the highlights that the filter added.

App Review

The app Snap-chat is used to both edit photos you take on the app , and communicate with friends and send photos back and forth. This app comes in handy when you need a quick filter or a quick way to communicate with someone who’s number you don’t have. This is my favorite app because of the quick filters.
