Action Shots

Action Shots

For this project we had to take pictures of something or someone moving. However, the object/person could not be blurry in the picture. I had to take multiple pictures while the object was  moving and try different angles this way I had multiple options and could see which worked the best. I would say that for this project you should try to make the subject of the photo move as slow as possible so it is easier to capture the image. If I could I think it would be really cool to take pictures of ice hockey players in motion. Click HERE for more photos!

Thankful

Thankful

  1. I am obviously very thankful for my family. I have the best family and I am super close with all of them. My little sister is my best friend although at times she can be annoying. My parents are super awesome and supportive they always know how to make me laugh. I have aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents from all over and I am extremely thankful for them. They make my day better every time I visit them!

2)I am also very thankful for all of my awesome school friends! They motivate me and are hilarious, I have been making memories with them since forever and they make even the most annoying chores better. My closest school friends include, Jenna, Mandy, Paige, Madison, and last but certainly not least Josie. These people are some of my closest friends and I have no idea how I would survive without them!

3) FACT, I am very thankful for my favorite TV show the office. I have watched the entire series 4 times and I loved every second of it except for when Michael leaves. This show has created so many inside jokes with my friends and I and I don’t think any show will ever be better.

4)I am thankful for calligraphy. Over the past year doing calligraphy has become a hobby and even a job for me. Calligraphy has brought me closer with some of my friends who are in the business with me and I really hope I can continue in the future.

5)I am thankful for camp Lohikan. I have made so may amazing friends and memories here and I would consider this place a second home. I am so happy that I decided to go almost four years ago because I have had such an amazing experience !

6) I am thankful for cheer. I started cheering at Shockwave Allstars three years ago and I have learned so much and met so may amazing people. I am so thankful for being part of an amazing team.

7)I am thankful for my best friend Jenna. Jenna is hilarious and I love her soooo much. She is always there for me and she loves to steal my food.

Smile

Smile

In this project I found it difficult to find good backgrounds to take my pictures, because a lot of the places I took pictures weren’t very exciting. When I compare my smiling and not smiling pictures I noticed that there is a lot more character in peoples’ faces when they smile. Also, people look more intimidating when they are not smiling. Being a bias photographer for this project could make the photographer portray the subject as who they know them to be and this project is supposed to be random people. Ask them about their past and what they want in the future so you can better understand the person. To see more pictures click HERE!

Rule of Thirds

Rule of Thirds

For this project I think that finding good places, people and objects to photograph worked really well, and it was easy finding good lighting. I think that a challenge was places to photograph people without other people not in thew background. After this project, I understand how important the rule of thirds is when taking pictures, because it sort of guides your eyes where to look. I set up the lines so that the school, for example was in the middle and semi top 6 boxes and the grass and stones took up the bottom 3 boxes. Click HERE for more pictures

Light Graffiti

Light Graffiti

For this project my group had to adjust the shutter speed so the camera lens would stay open long enough for the subject of the photo to draw a picture using a phone flash light, facing the light towards the camera. If we wanted to see the person in the picture we turned the light towards them. I think in this project getting everything to show up worked but making neat shapes was really hard because you couldn’t see what you had drawn. It was frustrating waiting for the pictures to process because we wanted to see how they turned out. I think to take this project to the next level I should bring cooler lights and maybe open the shutter for longer so that the drawing can be more detailed. Click HERE to see more photos!

Black Portrait Background

Black Portrait Background

For this project we had to take pictures with a real camera against a solid black background without leaving any shadow or seeing any flash from the light. My group would hold up lights on just the model’s face so there wouldn’t be light on the background only on the face.  After we uploaded all our pictures so we could edit them on photo shop. We edited them so that there was no light on the background and to make it black and white if needed. Editing the photos was easy because I now have more experience with photo shop and the tools on it. It was a challenge taking a picture without the light reflecting on the background because it required a lot of effort from the person holding the light.  Click to HERE see more photos!

White Portrait Background

White Portrait Background

For this project we had to take pictures with a real camera against a white background without leaving any shadow. My group would hold up lights behind the model so there wouldn’t be a shadow.  After we uploaded all our pictures we had to edit them using photo shop. We edited them so that there was no shadow and to make it black and white if needed. Taking pictures without a shadow worked well because of how we adjusted the settings on the camera. It was a challenge finding good poses to use without creating a blurry photo or a photo that the model didn’t like. Click HERE to see more photos from this project!

1 Object 5 Shots

1 Object 5 Shots

For this assignment I had to take five pictures from different angles of an object. I found it challenging to create original angles instead of the regular angle that most people use. It was hardest to take pictures of people because people are always moving and never like how they look in pictures. This project helped me learn how to capture new angles that I wouldn’t have thought of before.

For this assignment, I had to take a box of 24 crayons and find objects that  blended in with the crayons for my pictures. A challenge I faced in this project was getting the crayon to stay in place with the logo of the crayon still facing the camera. It was also a challenge uploading the photos of the crayons. Although I faced I few challenges in this project I found that it was easy to find matches to the crayons. I also found it was simple to get cool angles for photo. Overall, I really enjoyed how this assignment turned out!
