This 8th grade photography we did a lot of stuff.  Starting with crayons, we had to go around the school with a crayon box to see what colors matched to what.  Next we did black and while infinite backgrounds, then rule of thirds, those were fun but they weren’t may favorite expectually the rule of thirds.  I say that because we couldn’t make it fun.  Next we did “What im grateful for” This was one of my favorite because we got to go back into our lives and really really realize what were grateful for.  Next was the smiles project, that was my favorite because I got to see the before and after pictures and that was really enjoyable. Lastly was the scavenger hunt where we went around the school to take pictures of a list of things.  Overall i really enjoyed the class, I liked the freedom of it a lot.

When I see someone not smiling it makes me feel like there not approachable, but when they do smile I definitely get different vibes on how they live and act.  It is my job of a photographer to represent the things your might not see at first.  I liked this project because I got to reaction of people when I asked them if i could get a photo of them.

This is a picture of a boyfriend who was going to watch his girlfriend run the race and got affected by the Boston bombing, token by Josh Haner.  He was in physical therapy and he was so exhausted so he is just  laying there.  This photo makes me feel overwhelmed and said for his family because anyone could of been affected.  This man now has to live his whole life suffering from this bombing.

This is a picture of a mom and her kids getting affected by the Kenyan mall massacre, taken by Tyler Hicks.  Tyler got a call to go to  the mall to take photos and got to take this quick photo before being ushered into safety.  This photo makes me upset cause when I look at this I imagine my own family in this situation and it makes me very upset.  The part of the photo that made me the most upset was the bullets around the family.

“Set In The Street” took a lot of effort.  Before we put together the set we all gathered in the classroom and talked about what we needed.  Some of us brought in the materials others help get the things.  We made the walls by using wood, drywall and grey paint, I was fun because we got to put in the screws ourselfs.  Next we got The furniture from the teacher’s lounge including a couch, a chair and tables.  We also got the bookshelf and books from the lounge, and the lamp was ginin tous by Mr Leech.  The picture above the couch is taken from outside the school and out in a picture frame that was bought.  In one of the images below me and my friend Sammi are acting natural in the living space, as we would if if was real.

I am thankful for my friends because they always are there for me when need it and have my back. They also make me feel better when i’m feeling down and make laugh.

 

I am thankful for my family cause they help me and support me everything i do.  Also they make me a better person by being honest.

 

I am thankful for soccer and my soccer team because they help me improve and challenge my skill.

 

I am thankful for my state and the beauties of it. The potomac river.

 

I am thankful for my camp mates bause they make camp experience fun and exciting.  They make me happy to return.

 

I am thankful for caroline and grace because they understand me and help me if I need a laugh.  They make me feel needed

 

Lastly I am thankful for my dad and mom for bringing me into this world in which I am happy.  They greet me every morning

For this project I used photo editor and fireworks to edit my picture.  I adjusted the contrast and the brightness to make my picture more interesting.  The landscape of these pictures are taken outside the school.  The weather worked in the this project cause I got some really nice shots of the landscape.  Sometimes the grid didn’t really work cause it was hard the intersection.

I used Adobe Photoshop on my process to change the colors, Before that i took pictures using the shutter speed, ISO and manual too my advantage.  The poses worked because they looked good against the white background.  The white background didn’t work very well because of the shadows and took multiple pictures/times. And it was hard to find the right angle of the light.  Below is my favorite photo and link to all my photos.

I used my camera and photo shop to edit and take pictures.  It was really important to know how to use the Shutters Speed because that allowed us to keep the lens open for a certain amount of time to allow the light come in. The dark background worked for our pictures.  Sometimes the light didn’t work and it took multiple time to get it to work, which was really annoying.  For example the person coloring the other person would sometimes show up or what we were making with the light would just make a blob. The lighting and the black background worked during this project.  Blurry backgrounds didn’t work. I used Adobe Photoshop on my process to change the colors.
