last project

This semester was pretty easy and sometimes challenging doing some of these projects. My thoughts have changed about photography, I did change the way I take pictures because of the angles we are using now. My favorite project the light graffiti project because we could mess around with the cameras and the lights to see what would come out. I doesn’t really interest mean but it was pretty cool doing most of these projects. I think I might do this in high school to see what type of things they do too.

7 days

These are some of the many things I am thankful for:

1: I am thankful for horses and horseback riding because it makes me happy and I enjoy doing it

2: I am thankful for my cat because he is very fat am I love him very much

3: I am thankful for my phone because I am always on it and it keeps me from getting bored

4: I am thankful for family because they are always there when I need them.

5: I am thankful for my bed because its where I sleep, and its comfortable

6: I am thankful for my bestfriend ellie I love her very much and know she’s always there.

7: I am thankful for my charger because it charges my phone when its dead

Action

For this project we had to take photos in motion. For the setup I waited until the hallway was clear so I could get a picture of one person in motion instead of a bunch of people.  A tip could be getting good lighting and the right shutter speed, it will make your picture clearer and less blurry. You could move the camera in different positions and tilt it to get a variety of different pictures. I would want to photograph horseback riding because it has a lot of motion, and would look nice.

Up close

For this project we had to use the super macro setting on the camera or in my case VSCO. This project was very easy because it wasn’t that difficult to take pictures of nature. Some challenges were finding objects to take pictures of, or finding the quality of the photo. My phone focused on the nature and got decent pictures.

Then I asked them to smile

In this project we had to take pictures of 15 different people, one smiling and one not smiling. The difficult part of this project was asking people people to take their picture because you didn’t know whether or not they would say no or not. Some people had major changes from their facial expressions when they smiling, but others didn’t have much of a change. It shows that people should not be judged on how they look, and people should stereotype people.

Light graffiti

we took our pictures on mr. Fitz’s camera with the bulb setting. We held the button until the person drawing was finished, it couldn’t stay open for long or else the picture wouldn’t turn out right. We had to make sure there were no shadows or anything else in the picture. We didn’t have many frustrations besides getting the picture to turn out right and shadows. To make this drawing more complex I would do more complicated designs with the light.

App review

For these two pictures I used Snapchat and VSCO. Snapchat is used for taking pictures, adding filters and sending them to friends. VSCO is for taking pictures and editing them. These two are my favorite apps because you edit your pictures in different ways, and add tons of filters.

Newseum

At the Newseum, I went to the Pulitzer Prize gallery and I saw a lot of sad photos. There were pictures of war, hunger, and other emotional topics. There was also other exhibits on things like 9/11 and the Berlin wall. It was very educational and I learned a lot about the horrific events in history that make our world the way it is today.

rule of thirds

In this project, we learned and used the techniques to the rule of thirds. We made sure there was enough light to take a good picture. I liked all my photos to be near the windows or outside. Once we found a good spot we would find a good position on one of the lines. I like using the rule of thirds because using it always sets up the photo just right.

White background

in this project we had to take photos using a white background making sure there weren’t any shadows. We had to change the position of the light so there were no shadows and had to change the position of the camera so it wasn’t blurry.
