During this semester we did a lot of different projects and I learned more about photography. Now that I know more about photography my thoughts about it have changed. Also I have changed the way I take photos because now I know the correct way to take pictures and make them look good. My favorite project was the scavenger hunt because I had a lot of fun looking for everything and taking pictures. I like photography but I don’t think I would do it as a career or continue it next year. This is because i’m not very good at photography.
For this project we had to take close up pictures of an object. What worked well was when I put the object behind a solid background which helped my phone focus better. It was challenging to take a close up picture that wasn’t blurry and looked good. I would like to take a close up picture the snow because I think that would be a cool picture. For this project we had to create a scene that would be at a kitchen table. This project is inspired by Justin Bettman who built sets in the street and took pictures of people in it. This project was also inspired by Carrie Mae Weems who created different scenes at a kitchen table. In photoshop I used the feather tool to create the look of the kitchen light. If I could chose a place to take a picture of my family I would chose the kitchen table because we are always there either doing homework or eating dinner. See the rest of my pictures here.
For this project we had to take pictures of things in action. To take my photos I made sure I was at a good angle and took a burst as the person or object moved. A tip I have is to take lots of pictures of the thing in action and chose the best one. I think it would be cool to take action photos of soccer. See the rest of my pictures here
I am thankful for my phone because I use it a lot. I also have lots of pictures on it and memories. Without my phone I wouldn’t be able to talk to my family who lives far away. I am also thankful for it because I am able to talk to my friends when i’m not with them.
I am very thankful for my dog Logan. I am thankful for him because I have had him since I was 2 and have a lot of memories with him. Also I love taking him for walks and playing with him.
I am thankful for New Smyrna Beach Florida. I am thankful for New Smyrna because my grandparents, aunt, uncle and 2 cousins live there. I go to New Smyrna a lot and have a lot of fun memories from there.
I am thankful for lacrosse. I am thankful for lacrosse because it is one of my favorite sports and I love playing it. I have been playing for 4 years and have made so many new friends and memories from it.
I am very thankful for field hockey. Field hockey is another one of my favorite sports. Even though I haven’t been playing for very long I still really enjoy playing field hockey.
The next thing I am thankful for is my sister, Annabelle. My sister and I are only 3 years apart so we are really close. I love spending time with her and we always have a lot of fun together.
Lastly I am thankful for my parents. My parents love and support me no matter what. I am very thankful for them and dont know what I would do without them
It was difficult to go up to people and ask to take a picture of them. When the people were not smiling they looked mean or sad. When they were smiling they looked happy and nice. Bias could affect my job as a photographer because I might not want to take pictures of people who are mean but they could actually be really nice. When hiring someone I should ask about there personality and what they like to give the best chance of taking fair photos. See my photos here.
What worked was using the grids on my phone and what didn’t work was not using the grids. At first I didn’t like the rule of thirds and didn’t know how to use it. But once I learned how to use it I thought it was a cool way to get different angles from one object. To take the pictures I set up the shot by using the grids on my phone. I made sure the object I was taking a picture of was on one side and matched up with the grid. See the rest of my pictures here.
We took our pictures by changing some settings on the camera and had our shutter stay open for a certain amount of time. It worked when we used different colors to create something. It didn’t work when we used glow sticks or lights that weren’t very bright. It was frustrating to try and draw something but it wouldn’t come out the way we wanted it to. We can make the project better by drawing more things and using more colors. See the rest of my pictures here.
To take our photos we had to stand near a black background in a way that there was no shadows. We had to change settings on the camera and hold the light in a certain way for there to be no shadows and for the lighting to look good. It worked when we didn’t have too much lighting on the person. What didn’t work when we had the flash on the camera. See my other photos here

What worked was when we changed the settings and stood in a place so there was no shadows and the lighting was good.
