This semester has gone great in Photography. It all started with 24 Colors and ended here. My thoughts have not changed about photography I still love it. My pictures have changed for the better, better lighting, better subjects, etc. My favorite project was Then I Asked Them to Smile because I went out of my comfort zone to take pictures of strangers. Photography definitely is a career option. I will try to keep learning about cameras and photography in high school.

Last Project!

This semester has been really fun taking photos. We did so many different and interesting projects that I enjoyed. It was a great class to start 8th grade. My thoughts have changed about photography because in the beginning, I thought it was just taking pictures. But after this class, I learned that you can edit photos in so many different ways. I have changed the way I take photos because this class taught me different ways on how to take photos like up close, and in motion. My favorite project was the light graffiti because it was so cool seeing that if you leave the shutter open, you can paint a picture. Photography doesn’t interest me as a career. But, I would like to continue learning in high school because I enjoy taking photo

Getting close

What I had to do for this project was take photos close up to show textures. What worked well is not getting to close so it actually focuses. My Challenge was finding good places to take pictures. I had some issues like the camera not focusing. I would probably take a picture of bugs or animals. For the rest of my photos come here.

Getting Close

In this project we had to take up close photos on small objects. We had to use the macro icon in our cameras to get a really good shot. In the end, we had to take 10 photos that are up close. Using the macro icon worked really well in this project because the pictures looked way better than taking them regularly. I tried going close to the objects and I’ve never done that before. A challenge I had was trying to find objects because usually it didn’t work out. It was pretty difficult to find subjects. An issue I had with the camera was when I tried to take a photo, the camera didn’t turn to the macro icon and went to another icon. I would like to take pictures of animals up close, specifically bees.

Set in The Street

For this project we had to create 4 emotions with 4 pictures in a fake set. The photographers that created the orginal photos are Justin Bettman and Carrie Mae Weems. The photoshop tools I used were lasso, curves and black and white. If I would take a photo that would represent my family I would take it in my dining room.

Set in the Street

In this assignment, we had to take photos in a set. We had to come up with ideas on our photos, like the mood and the props we would be using. Also, we had to take one last photo of the set zoomed out so you can see where it was actually taken from. The photographers that inspired us for these photos were Justin Bettman, because he put sets in public places. Also, Carrie Mae Weems because we also used a kitchen table for the set and the lighting is inspired be her. The photo shop tools I used was an elliptical marquee tool which gave me the area that I needed to edit. I also used the curve tool because it made the area of the photo darker to resemble a lamp. I would choose to take my photos in Iceland because my family has always wanted to go there. You would see happy, sad, and excited photos.

7 Days

For this project I had to take 7 pictures of things that I am thankful for. My first picture was a picture of my family. I am thankful for my family because they love me and they help me through tough times but always make me laugh. My second photo is of my dad. I am thankful for my dad because he teaches me things that I need to know in life and is proud of me. My third photo is of Zack. I am thankful for Zack because he is my friend and I should be thankful for that. My fourth photo is of my brother and my cousin. I’m thankful for my brother because he toughens me up and puts a smile on my face. Also, I’m thankful for my cousin because he is young and I can treat him like a little brother. My fifth photo is of my cat. I am thankful for my cat because she is nice and brings back good memories. My sixth photo is of my cousins dog. I am thankful for my cousins dog because his funny to play with and looks like a potato. My last photo is of my dog Stella. I am thankful for my dog Stella because she loves and always lets me pet her. If you want to see the rest of my photos click here.

Catch The Action

For this project I had to catch people doing things while in motion. What I did to take good moving photos is to keep the shutter speed fast than slow. A tip is to do it in good lighting. Also, do it in a large space. A sport I would like to photograph is definitely soccer or basketball because there is a lot of moving involved which gives great pictures. For the rest of my pictures click here.

Catch the Action

In this project, we had to take photos of people or objects in motion. To capture good images, I took the picture early. This helped because if I tried to take it late, the person would already be on the ground and I needed to get them in the air. Some tips I have would be to plan out your photo so nothing unexpected happens. Also, to take the photo earlier than you think because it helps. I would want to photograph soccer because it would be cool to see someone kicking the ball while in motion.
