Getting Close

Our task for this project was to get close to objects or people and take pictures of them. Using zoom on my phone camera aided me in this project. One new thing I tried in this project was using auto on a regular camera. One challenge was finding good things to get pictures of. If I had the time, I would photograph Lego’s close up. You can find the rest of my photos here.

Set In The Street

This project is about taking photos of events that seem to be occurring in one place, but the setting is actually in a different location. These people helped inspire this project, Justin Bettman and Carrie Mae Weems. The Photoshop tools I used in this project were the elliptical marquee and the curves tab. If I had to choose a place to take a picture that represents my family’s story, I would choose the Rocky Mountains because I was born in Colorado, and it is an important place to me. You would expect photos of mountains and nature from me. Here is a link to the rest of my photos.

Catch The Action

In this project I was tasked with taking photos of people or objects in motion. What helped me capture good images was rapidly taking pictures of the thing in motion (In this case I used my phone). My tip is that you have to make sure the object you are taking a picture of, is the main subject of the photo. If I could photograph a sport, I would choose basketball because it is a fun sport. You can find the rest of the photos I took here.

7 Days Of Black And White

I am thankful for my beautiful dog. He brings joy to my life and I love him a lot. His name is Finn

I am thankful for my cool sister. She will always play a gem with me and I have a special bond with her.

I am thankful for my dad. he helps motivate me to get good grades in school. And he will play video games with me. I love him a lot.

I am thankful for all the delicious snack and food my parents buy. Every day after school, I always have something to eat.

I am thankful for this cool house we get to live in. It provides shelter and it also feels like a good nice home.

I am thankful for LPMS. I love going to this school almost everyday to see my friends and my awesome teachers.

I am thankful for this awesome library. I like going to this library often to read the books my dad has collected over the years.

Smile

The most difficult part of the project was getting people to say yes to being photographed. The changes I see are that people look much different when they are smiling, form when they are frowning. Bias could affect which things you take pictures of, and how you take them. You should ask your client if they are okay with taking pictures and you should ask them where you should take the picture. You can find the photos I took here.

Light Graffiti

We took our pictures using our phone lights to draw the image. Our settings made it so that the shutter stayed open for longer, and that more light was absorbed. What worked was using our phone lights and moving them around to draw an image. What didn’t work was keeping the shutter stay open for a short amount of time. It was frustrating to draw the images, as it was hard to plan out where to draw. To take the project to the next level, maybe we could have done it outside, when it was dark. You can find the rest of my photos here.

Rule Of Thirds

This assignment was about taking pictures using the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds basically says to imagine splitting up your photo into thirds, and then basing the photo of off that. What worked on this project was turning on the gird on my phone to take pictures. What didn’t work was trying to imagine the lines on the photo. I thought that the project was a little dull and boring. The lines helped divide up the photo, so that you could align the parts of the photo to fit them. You can find all of my photos here.

1 Object, 5 Shots

In this assignment I was tasked with taking 5 different photos of one object from different angles. One of the challenges of the project was finding different angles to get the pictures, as some objects don’t have much variety. The hardest object to photograph was a person because you need to find very clever angles to make the pictures seem different. This project helped me develop my creativity.
